MICOR: About our company

MICOR staff at work

MICOR GmbH – innovation with tradition – has been firmly established for more than 40 years in the field of special-purpose machines and plant engineering and construction, making it the oldest company specialised in infrared heat for industrial processes. From the very beginnings, we have consistently focused on custom solutions for needs-based heating and drying processes with the help of short-wave infrared radiation and thus help our customers sustainably optimise their production processes.

Our team of currently 15 members of staff does not rely on standard products, but develops, designs and manufactures customised infrared systems that are precisely designed to meet the needs of the specific application and intended use.

Not all infrared is the same

Our motto at MICOR, originally Hoechst AG, has always been "Not all infrared is the same". A technological development that started in the late sixties at Messer Griesheim, a subsidiary of Hoechst AG, and has been consistently further developed to cater to numerous industrial sectors to this day.

The so-called bright emitter systems have developed from products offering a service life of 50 hours at that time to more than 30,000 hours today and have been made available for industrial use from the field of lighting technology. Many international patents testify to our many years of research and development, from which today's users equally benefit.

The right wavelength: IR drying with *KIR technology

All our IR emitters work with short-wave infrared radiation that directly penetrates the product and generates heat from within, without any loss of energy. Our special MICOR *KIR technology is characterised by its ability to be switched on and off within seconds without any preheating or cooling times. All our IR emitters are based on this radiation technology.
