Moisture profile correction in paper production

The production and converting of paper products requires a significant amount of energy. Especially in the current situation, many manufacturers are expressing the desire to reduce gas and oil consumption while maintaining the same machine speed. This can be achieved with the heating and drying support of our electric MICOR *NIR systems.

Our infrared cassettes dry and heat paper precisely and gently, and can be shut down in fractions of a second, preventing damage to paper webs and avoiding the risk of fires. With our MICOR infrared drying systems, customized to your specific needs, we can efficiently dry the web without energy loss, often at higher production speeds. In the area of edge drying, we optimize quality and maintain machine speeds with systems tailored to your setup. By flexibly adjusting the moisture profile of paper or cardboard webs through zonal control of our MICOR systems, we also enhance product quality.

MICOR represents 45 years of market and technology experience. Our products are continuously refined and utilize our unique MICOR *NIR technology, which features instant on/off capability, eliminating the need for preheating or cooling times. Our products are ATEX certified and comply with EU regulations.

Moisture profile correction with shortwave infrared radiation

Problem: Our customer reported an uneven moisture profile in their paper web with a working width of 2500 mm. This profile needed to be balanced using MICOR technology.

Solution: By installing a MICOR *NIR cassette after the drying section of the paper machine, the moisture profile was corrected using 8 separately controllable drying zones.

If your application is not listed, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to present additional use cases or simulate real production conditions on your own system as part of our MICOR operational test.
