The demands on printing applications are constantly increasing – and so are the requirements for existing printing and coating machines.

The production of new and high-quality print materials requires ever more powerful machines, at the same time making production processes more complex. Higher quantities of residual solvents, reduced machine speed or longer drying times are the inevitable consequences. Our infrared add-on units are used whenever existing drying capacities are no longer sufficient.

More performance, more quality and more efficiency for your printing press

At MICOR we develop individual infrared drying systems that are specially tailored to your printing process, the materials you use or different printing inks and can be used as drying support or as additional drying units. We therefore ensure sustainable added performance, more quality and more efficiency of your printing machines.

All our MICOR drying systems comply with the safety requirements for continuous drying systems for printing and paper processing machines.

Benefits

Our infrared applications generate concentrated radiant heat energy for various drying processes – without any loss of energy.

Examples of successful applications in the printing industry

Digital printing
  • Very short ink drying times for dispersion varnishes and inks
  • Autonomous drying systems with supply and exhaust air and integrated, high-energy MICOR infrared radiation parts
  • Compact drying solutions for digital printing machines of all sizes
Gravure printing
  • Reduction of residual solvents and shorter drying times for emulsion paints, solvent paints, various adhesives and solvent lacquers
  • Post-drying for residual solvent reduction and reduction of odours
  • Increase in speed by more than 100% via the additional installation of a MICOR *KIR infrared cassette
Flexo printing
  • Fast drying of dispersion paints, solvent paints, various adhesives and solvent lacquers
  • Optimisation of the printing speed of flexographic printing machines for sausage casings based on viscose and polymer raw materials, packaging, gift wrapping paper, etc.
  • Production optimisation of flexographic printing machines for napkins, table sets, tablecloths, etc.
  • Post-drying for residual solvent reduction and reduction of odours
Label printing
  • Reduction of drying times for emulsion paints, solvent paints, various adhesives and solvent lacquers
  • Fitting of conventional label printing machines as individual dryers or in addition to existing dryers
  • Installation in conventional dryers (convection drying hoods) of printing and coating machines instead of part of the convection nozzles
  • Heating of embossing cylinders/rollers
