Fillers, lacquers, adhesives or paints are applied to the wood surface in a wide variety of processes during the manufacture of wood products. Achieving the best possible results in such a wide variety of coating processes demands a great deal of energy.

Especially when processing wood, drying processes must be optimally adjusted to ensure that wooden surfaces are heated as well as possible without drying out the inside of the product. We at MICOR are often called in when additional production processes are to be optimised and workflows accelerated.

MICOR *KIR technology for the optimisation of woodworking processes

The special properties of our MICOR *KIR technology enable us to heat materials, activate adhesives and save solvents in a particularly effective, yet gentle manner, while saving energy at the same time. As a result, production speeds can be sustainably optimised and energy consumption reduced – for instance on thermal laminating lines, when processing decorative papers, thin laminates (CPL, LPL) or thermoplastic films in combination with dispersion adhesive, urea-formaldehyde adhesive, polyurethane or EVA hotmelt adhesive.

To equip your woodworking machines, we supply various designs which we adapt to your existing machine concept, based on the specific application, and which can therefore be optimally integrated into existing processes.

Benefits

Our short-wave IR drying systems reduce the temperature load on print substrate materials to a minimum while water and residual solvents evaporate, the dwell time in the dryer is shortened and the amount of primer energy required is significantly reduced.

MICOR infrared tube emitters

Our infrared tube emitters are energy-efficient, space-saving and economical systems to optimise production for a wide range of applications and processes. They concentrate the radiant energy in band form via elliptical or parabolic reflectors and are thus optimally suited for heating surfaces and lines.
